Their wedding had an air of vintage Hollywood, cross pollinated with the King of Rock, which starts to make a lot more sense when you find out that Heady is an artist and model, and Owl is a set decorator for movies… and last but not least… both are Elvis enthusiasts! We have had the privilege of working with Heady for NOLA Wedding Guide, as a model for both the Alice in Wonderland and the Steampunk shoot. Though we have tried to recruit Owl as a male model for the magazine, his movie schedule has unfortunately so far clashed with our shoots. Heady and Owl were married with a beautiful ceremony at Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans, followed by an equally beautiful reception at The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. Atlanta based band The Tams entertained their guests with their explosive R&B show. Heady wore a gorgeous Jim Hjelm dress from Town and Country Bridal Salon, with a beautiful family heirloom ivory and lace “Juliet’ veil and headpiece once worn by her mother. Owl and the groomsmen wore vintage style, one-button tuxedos, and the bridesmaids wore emerald gowns with black fascinators and long gloves. Their wedding cake was a traditional almond cake layered with amaretto and caramel buttercream and covered with decadent white chocolate fondant. Owl’s groom’s cake, a red velvet cake layered with raspberry buttercream, emphasized the vintage theme in the shape of a film reel.
